The Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs is the oldest interregional public organization of senior managers of enterprises and Russian businessmen, founded in 1989. The entrepreneurs from 51 region of Russia and representatives of foreign businesses work in over 35 committees of the Association. Departments and representative offices of the Association work not only in the Russian regions and CIS countries, but also in the Central Europe (Austria), in the Mediterranean countries and the Middle East states (Cyprus), the U.S.A. (states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware).

The Association cooperates with the Administration of the RF President, governments of the Russian Federation, Moscow and RF territorial constituents, committees of the State Duma and the Council of Federation, bodies of the authorized representatives of the RF President in the federal districts, law-making assemblies of the regions, and with over 40 entrepreneur unions.

Many initiatives of the Association were the first in the country: the first Russian Business-Club, the first corporate business newspaper, the firs 25-volume reference book of small businesses "Encyclopedia of Small Business", the first and only Museum of Domestic Entrepreneurship, the first signing of the cooperation contract between the two unions of entrepreneurs effected during the visit of Moscow business community representatives to Yaroslavl on the "Business Train" owned by the Association. The journalists called this journey the best presentation event of the decade. For the first time in the history of business unions the concept of operations of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs covering most of its working aspects was developed and approved.

The serious result of the research work of the Association was the first in the Russian history "Atlas of Moscow Lands Valuation" issued in 1999 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs by Ekonomika printing house.

One of the most important of the results of the Association’s activities is a range of federal and city legislative regulations providing for more favourable conditions for the operations of the business community.

Today it is a strong public organization capable of protecting the activity of its members at all stages of business development. The Association is an efficient working tool of the business, which attracts the most active part of Moscow, regional and foreign entrepreneurs. The large member base of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs allows to keep the membership fees at rather a low level. The newcomers to the Association in addition to their certificates and IDs of the MAE member obtain certificates of the other organizations affiliated with MAE, without any additional contributions.

The Association helps the entrepreneurs to promote orders, attract investments, establish business and provide for its security, renders consulting, audit and legal services, helps to optimize financial accounting, develop business plans, feasibility studies, arranges gratis probations and training, obtaining on a cost-free basis of informational and methodological literature on the opening a business and other fields of economy, renders assistance in funding the projects, including obtaining foreign grants, selects and registers non-residential premises and buildings for lease and ownership.

The created data base of demand and supply, services of the members of the Association allows to effect target search of Russian and foreign partners.

The Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs in cooperation with its foreign partners is the developer of a special program of lending to manufacturers, which ensures the delivery of any equipment, including the most efficient today leasing scheme.

The leading specialists of the MAE Banking Committee who have a rich experience in the banking sector, render consultations for entrepreneurs to coordinate their activities when resolving the issues arising in the process of economic activities, as well as for the purpose of implementation of perspective projects.

The Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs has an arbitration court which helps the MAE members to settle on an operative and final basis the disputes arising in the process of entrepreneur activities.

The MAE Committee for Exhibition and Foreign Economic Activities arranges exhibitions of the products manufactured by domestic enterprises both in Russia and abroad, travel meetings of the representatives of the Russian business community with the senior managers of CIS countries and foreign states. MAE-EXPO-an exhibition company-is operating within the Association.

The Committee’s Internet base of investment activities opened at www.ivr.ru  for potential investors allows the enterprises to place their proposals for investment attraction on a cost-free basis. Within the Committee for Innovations and Venture Financing the web-site www.ptechnolgy.ru  is operating, where the innovation projects are placed. The major web-site of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs www.rusbusiness.org  is also actively operating. These web-sites are visited by hundreds of specialists daily.

The Press Centre and the Club of the Association arranges business meetings with famous politicians, heads of ministries and departments, holds efficient information companies. The Association publishes annual catalogues, newspapers Moskovsky predprinimatel and Vestnik intellektualnoy sobstvennosti, periodical topical magazines Integral, Kantselyarskoe delo, Sekretar and Po vsey strane.

The Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs systematically implements large-scale programs, both on the Russian and international levels. The following event were held in the recent years only: investment and economic congresses in the U.S.A. (Las Vegas), Australia (Sydney), Mexico (Acapulco), Israel (Eylat), innovational forum of representatives of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region (APEC) in Moscow, international conferences in Vienna (Austria), Tokyo (Japan), Philadelphia (U.S.A.) and others. In 2000 in Bethlehem a meeting of the heads of the Orthodox states dedicated to the Third Millennium was held.

The Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs holds various charity events on a regular basis: giving out presents during the Day of the City to all orphan homes of Moscow and the Moscow Region, accompanied by the children releasing the balloons into the air and entry of this event in the Guinness Book of World Records; holding a charity auction of the pieces of art in cooperation with New York Mayor’s Office, to commemorate the events of 11.09.2001; the collected funds were transferred to the Aggrieved Aid Fund. Charity marathons on TV are arranged for the benefit of the children who need support, assistance to the compatriots abroad is rendered, and other significant events are held.

Under the auspices of the Association the museum of contemporary Russian art is developed, the own collection of which includes over 300 canvases of the Russian masters, purchased at the auctions of the U.S.A. and Europe.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, with participation of other ministries and departments, the Association holds the annual All-Russia Exhibition Forum GOSZAKAZ, the purpose of which is to stimulate the openness and transparency of procurement for the state needs, familiarization of the state customers with the state-of-the-art technologies and manufacturers of goods, works and services. During the Exhibition Forum scientific conferences, round tables are held, as well as the awarding of the laureates of the contest "Vendor of the Year".

Under the auspices of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs annual contests are held. The contest "Moscow Entrepreneur" is held among the small businesses which have generated the most significant results in their activities, the contest "Victoria" is held for the young entrepreneurs, directors of enterprises and managers who successfully work in various sectors. The contest "Leader in High Technologies" is held in cooperation with the Moscow Government, and allows to attract investments in the innovation business. Children’s contests are also held, at which special prizes for the best paper on economy and other activities are awarded.

The manufacturers of goods that have gained significant results in procurement of the security and high quality of goods and services are warded with the Golden Quality Mark of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs, with the right to use the Mark for representation and advertising purposes.

On an annual basis the leading economic journalists in cooperation with the Moscow Union of Journalists are awarded with the prize of the "Business Circles" and the all-Russia prize "PRESSzvanie".

The following events have become traditional and are held on an annual basis: New Year Reception of business circles in the Kremlin Palace of Meetings, business picnic held in one of the park ensembles of the capital (Kuskovo, Tsaritsyno, Hermitage garden), opening of business season and holding the annual Day of Hunter and Fisher (Kuzminki park), sailing regatta of "Business Circles" held by the St. Petersburg division of MAE and the Moscow Yacht-Club founded by the Association, monthly business evenings, round tables and meetings of the club "Moscow Entrepreneur". During such events the members of the Association not only communicate with each other, which is very important for mutually beneficial contacts, but also with the representatives of the political, business and cultural elite of the country, heads of the governmental and legislative authorities of all levels.

In cooperation with the Museum and Exhibition Centre of History of Domestic Entrepreneurship founded by the Association, significant public events are held, such as the Ceremony of Investing the Order "Glory of Russia" included in the State Register of Awards of the Russian Federation, etc. The funds of the Museum include a collection of documentary and corporeal materials, not only from the past, but also from the current entrepreneurship. During the time of its existence, the Museum has become the centre which unites the specialists of the Institute of National History and the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the successors of the famous Russian business surnames: Morozov, Abrikosov, Firsanov, Sorokoumovsky, Prokhorov, Khludov, Zimin, etc. The Museum takes part in the arrangement of scientific seminars and conferences, preparation of TV documentaries, publishes a great deal of literature on the history of national entrepreneurship. There are regular excursions for the Russian school students. The longstanding operations of the Museum have collected the sufficient experience in forming a positive attitude of society to the entrepreneurship as a necessary social formation.

In 1994 the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs and the U.S. business circles have founded the Business Council of the Mid-Atlantic States of America and Russia, which is presently successfully operating on the territory of the U.S.A. and the Russian Federation. The purpose of the Business Council is the creation of conditions for efficient interaction of business and scientific circles of Russia and the U.S.A. on the territory of the Mid-Atlantic States of America.

In 2002 during the 5th meeting of the Association, the two oldest public organizations of the country merged by means of inclusion in the MAE of the Union of Managers of Russia-the latter was liquidated as a legal entity-which was the beginning of the process of inclusion in the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs of the members of other organizations, associations and unions.

The long-term experience of resolution of issues and rendering assistance to the entrepreneurs, manufacturers and bankers; the elaborate mechanism of cooperation with the legislative, executive and judicial authorities, public and commercial structures, political and business elite of the country allow MAE to remain not only the oldest, but one of the leading entrepreneur organizations in Russia.
